The process of transplanting hair follicles, ie grafts, taken from donor areas to areas where hair follicles are no longer active and baldness occurs, using microsurgical methods is called "hair transplantation". Roots obtained from the patient are added to the areas where hair thinning and absence are seen. In hair transplantation, it is not possible to take hair follicles from another person and transfer them to another.

Which Techniques Are Used in Hair Transplantation?

With the effect of developing technology, hair transplantation methods are increasing day by day. Although there are many different methods from each other, there are two most known and used methods. In both of these methods, hair follicles are transplanted to the desired area alive, but the ways of obtaining hair follicles are different. In one method, the hair follicle is obtained from the back of the head, while in the other method, the hair follicle is taken between the two ears. Half of this, the surgical devices used to collect hair follicles also differ. Diseases affecting hair transplantation; are diseases that cause rashes on the scalp, such as eczema and psoriasis. If there is such a skin disease, the success of hair transplantation will decrease. People who want to have hair transplantation should first show their current diseases to a dermatologist and apply the necessary treatments. If skin diseases are eliminated as a result of the treatment, the person becomes ready for hair transplantation.

What Should Not Be Done After Hair Transplantation?

Among the things that should not be done after hair transplantation are the choice of clothes with narrow collars, necks and zippers, because while wearing these clothes, you can rub and damage the transplanted area. For the first ten days, it will be beneficial to choose clothes with a wider collar and more open. In addition, the first two weeks, gyms, sauna, pool, Turkish bath, solarium and hairdresser should be avoided. There is no harm in taking light walks after the operation. However, if you are doing a sport such as football, basketball, kick boxing, wrestling, taekwondo where you can hit the head area, you should take a break from these activities for 45 days and wait for the hair follicles to heal completely. After the operation, the hair can be shortened with scissors, provided that it is not shaved. After 45 days, you can get all kinds of hair care services.

The transplanted area should not come into contact with water for two days after the operation. You can do the first wash after hair transplantation 48 hours after the operation. The use of shampoo after hair transplantation is possible after 48 hours. While washing, hard movements should be avoided, the scalp should be washed with soft movements and massage with fingertips. During washing, warm water should be used and rinsed thoroughly.
