DHI stands for "Direct Hair Transplant", that is, "direct hair transplantation". Hair transplantation with DHI technique, which is one of the newest hair transplantation methods, is performed together with FUE technique. As in the FUE technique, the hair follicles collected with the help of a special-tipped micromotor are transplanted to the desired area with this technique. The difference of this technique from the FUE technique is that with the special pen used, both the opening of the channels in the area where the hair is to be transplanted and the hair transplantation can be done. In this method, grooving and hair transplantation are done the same for hair transplantation. In this way, hair follicles can be successfully transplanted to the desired location without losing their efficiency, and the success rate of the procedure increases. Another advantage of the hair transplantation method with DHI is that it allows the transplantation to be done intensively and frequently. It offers the freedom to perform the procedures that patients wish to tighten their hair, not only in areas with complete hair loss.
In this method, first of all, local anesthesia is applied to the area where the roots to be used for hair transplantation will be taken, and the hair follicles are relaxed. Then, hair follicles are collected with a special pen called “choi”. Channels are opened in the area where the hair follicles collected with the same choi pen will be planted and hair follicles are placed on the scalp. The feature of the Choi pen is that it is very thin and pointed, but has a tip that allows the roots to be placed easily in the canals. The important thing here is that this medical pen is inserted into the scalp at an appropriate angle. When the special area behind the pen inserted into the scalp at an appropriate angle is pressed, the hair follicle inside can be placed on the scalp easily and quickly. Healthy tissues are not damaged during the procedures performed using the DHI pen technique.
One of the reasons why this process is often preferred is that after the roots are taken from the scalp, they are placed in the desired area again without waiting. In this way, the probability of success in hair transplantation with this method increases due to the retention rate of the roots and the rate of staying healthy of the grafts.
This process takes about 10-12 hours and the important thing here is that this process is done by experts. After the procedures performed in both the FUE technique and the DHI technique, the control is performed on the first day and the washing process is started on the second day. This process continues regularly for eight days.
